Emirates are a fantastic airline who serve Dubai out of both Heathrow and Gatwick. This hub in Dubai offers us a wide selection of onwards destinations, and we have brilliant agents there who let all animals out of their travel kennels into secure pens where they can rest and relieve themselves before being loaded onto the onwards flight. We usually send from Heathrow where pets are delivered into a livestock room on the quieter side of the airport, away from all the general freight. They are taken directly from here to the aircraft by specially trained staff.
Unfortunately, lots of common breeds such as any Bulldog or Mastiff breed, Boxers, Doberman, Rottweiler, and English and Staffordshire Bull Terriers are not accepted at any time by Emirates.
They also have temperature restrictions on certain flatter faced breeds such as Pugs, Shih Tzu’s and King Charles Spaniels. There are many more dog breeds that are restricted, so please contact us for more information.
If you do not have a dog with a long nose, it is likely that your pets would come under the restricted breeds list for Emirates. With cats, the British Shorthair, Exotic, Persian, Himalayan and American Burmese are included.
Any pets (including crossbreeds of them) that are on the restricted list can only travel in the winter months from October to April.
