Fetchapet – A bespoke service flying pets to China. IATA compliant pet travel kennels ensure a safe journey when taking pets to China.

One pet per person’s passport is allowed entry into the Peoples Republic of China.

Pets can only clear customs on arrival providing the person collecting the animal at the airport of arrival has exactly the same name that appears on all of the documentation used to transport the animal.

Pet dogs and cats must be microchipped and have the microchip number recorded on all veterinary certificates. Microchipping must be undertaken before the required vaccinations are given to enable the Official Veterinarian (OV) or Local Veterinary Inspector (LVI) Veterinary Surgeon of DEFRA to identify the animal when completing any paperwork.

Dogs must be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper and Parvovirus and Cats must be vaccinated against Rabies, Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis. These inoculations must be done at least 30 days and not more than 12 months before the date of travel.

The Chinese Veterinary Authorities have not specified which conditions a pre export isolation period should meet, however as a minimum, DEFRA Official Veterinarians (OV) or Local Veterinary Inspectors (LVI) of DEFRA should ensure that the dog is held at the owners U.K. residence for 30 days and does not have the opportunity to come into contact with any other animals not similarly certifiable during this isolation period. A declaration must be produced by the owner to the effect that the animal has shown no signs of illness during this period.

Fetchapet will provide guidance on the current requirements during the isolation period for pets to enter China. This will involve at least 3 visits being made by the Vet to the owner’s residence during isolation.

Dogs and cats can only enter at Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang or Guangzhou and are subject to a varied home or Government quarantine period depending on the airport. There is no quarantine on arrival in China

Pets can travel into The Peoples Republic of China providing their arrival is within 14 days of the arrival of the owner listed on the paperwork.
