A maximum of 2 pets per owner are allowed entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Pet dogs and cats must be microchipped and have the microchip number recorded on all veterinary certificates. Microchipping must be undertaken before the required vaccinations are given to enable the Official Veterinarian (OV) or Local Veterinary Inspector (LVI) of DEFRA to identify the animal when completing any paperwork.
A rabies vaccination is required for dogs and cats at least 30 days and not more than 6 months prior to export.
An Import Permit is required prior to shipment, and if you are shipping your pet through Fetchapet then we can assist you by obtaining the Import Permit through the Veterinary practices in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah.
Dogs and cats must have a DEFRA Export Health Certificate issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV) or Local Veterinary Inspector (LVI) of DEFRA not more than 96 hours prior to shipment. Most practices have at least one OV working in the practice.
Dogs must be imported as guard/watch dogs to protect their owner’s property and some breeds are banned so please check the list with the Fetchapet office.
