Flying Dogs To Thailand From The UK
We usually use Thai Airways, as they’re one of the most pet-friendly airlines for travel to Thailand. They have trained animal attendants who check on pets before and after the flight, making sure everyone is comfortable and safe.

Your dog will travel in a secure, IATA-compliant crate with plenty of space to stand, turn around and lie down. We can even build a custom-sized crate if your dog needs one.
If you’d like to travel on the same flight as your dog, that’s possible too. Many of our clients choose this option, and we can help you coordinate the arrangements.
What You’ll Need To Prepare
To meet Thailand’s import rules, your dog/s must:
- Be microchipped before any vaccinations are given.
- Have a rabies vaccination at least 21 days and no more than 12 months before travel.
- Be fully vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis (DHLP) at least 21 days before departure.
- Have an Import Permit issued by the Thai authorities.
- Be checked by a DEFRA Official Veterinarian within 72 hours of travel for an Export Health Certificate. This confirms your dog is healthy and fit to fly.

It depends on your dog’s breed, size and where in Thailand you’re flying to, but prices generally range between £1,400 and £4,500. We can give you a more accurate quote once we know the details.
No, there’s no quarantine for dogs arriving in Thailand as long as all paperwork, vaccinations and permits are in order.
Yes, it’s often possible to travel on the same plane as your dog. We can arrange this for you and make sure everything is coordinated smoothly.
Sometimes. Dogs under 14 kg each can travel together in the same container if they’re used to being together, but we only allow this if it’s safe and approved by the airline. When dogs travel together, we use a divided crate so they can be close enough to comfort each other but still separated for safety.
