Air travel kennels are manufactured in our own workshops and each kennel is tailor made to suit your pet’s measurements which ensures maximum safety and comfort during the journey.
Collection of your pet is available from your home or breeders address anywhere in England, Scotland or Wales, or you may deliver to our premises, or be met at Heathrow airport by one of our representatives
Pet dogs and cats must be microchipped and have the microchip number recorded on all veterinary certificates. Microchipping must be undertaken before the required vaccinations are given to enable your Veterinary Surgeon to identify the animal when completing any paperwork.
A rabies vaccination is now compulsory for dogs and cats to enter some states in the USA and so we recommend it should be administered in the UK prior to shipment. If the vaccination is not done prior to shipment, then it will be required within a specified time of arrival into the US.
A Veterinary Certificate of Health stating that the pet is fit to travel must be issued by your Veterinary Surgeon within 10 days of shipment. This is a private certificate that can be issued on the Vet practice headed paper giving the microchip number for identification and vaccination against rabies details and signed by your usual veterinary surgeon. We have templates that have the correct wording that we can send to your Vet in plenty of time for completion. We are also able to have our own Veterinary Surgeons at the Ark Veterinary Centre complete the Veterinary Certificate of Health on your behalf if required.
Pets should not be shipped to arrive in the United States on a Saturday or Sunday as many airports will not allow animals to land at weekends.
